August 2020 Unemployment Numbers Released

The Department of Workforce Development (DWD)  released the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates of unemployment and employment statistics for Wisconsin metropolitan areas, major cities and counties in Wisconsin for August 2020.

Preliminary August 2020 unemployment rates declined in 71 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties over the month, with the largest decrease occurring in Dodge County.

Dodge County unemployment rate for August 2020: 4.9 percent, down from 7 percent in July.

Jefferson County unemployment rate for August 2020: 4.9 percent, down from 5.7 percent in July.
