Environmental Milestone Achieved for Blighted Waterloo Property

Once a blighted eyesore containing hazardous chemicals, crumbling buildings, the remnants of vagrants and 100+ semi-truck tires dumped throughout, the 333 Portland Road Project in Waterloo has reached an exciting milestone – the property’s 17.86 acres of industrial land (about 9 buildable) has moved from blight to a productive reuse opportunity.

The environmental remediation case before the Department of Natural Resources, necessary to make the site reusable, has formally closed.
