Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week: April 12 – 16, 2021

April 12-16 has been declared as Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin, and Jefferson County wants everyone to take time to talk about weather safety with their families.

Donna Haugom, Jefferson County Emergency Management Director encourages everyone to participate in the statewide tornado drills on April 15.  The drills will occur at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

“Please take time to pause what you are doing and practice going to your designated shelter location,” said Haugom. “If there is severe weather expected anywhere in the state on April 15, the drill would be postponed to April 16.”

To stay safe from severe weather, Jefferson County Emergency Management has issued a memo outlining best practices.
