Unemployment Rate Continues to Drop in Dodge and Jefferson Counties

The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) released the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates of unemployment and employment statistics for Wisconsin metropolitan areas, major cities and counties in Wisconsin for June 2020.

Preliminary June 2020 unemployment rates decreased in all of Wisconsin’s 72 counties over the month and increased over the year. Rates range from 5.7 percent in Lafayette to 20.0 percent in Menominee.

For the ThriveED region:

  • Dodge County’s June 2020 unemployment rate was 7.3 percent, a drop from 9.7 percent in May 2020.
  • Jefferson County’s June 2020 unemployment rate was 7.3 percent, a drop from 9.8 percent in May 2020.
